The Importance of Physician Engagement in Mental Health Advocacy

Debra E. Koss, MD, chair of the New Jersey Psychiatric Association’s  Council on Advocacy, will speak with psychiatry residents at New Jersey Medical School about the importance of physician engagement in mental health advocacy

Participants will:

• acquire knowledge about the importance of physician engagement in grassroots advocacy
• develop skills to effectively communicate with legislators
• become familiar with advocacy resources and opportunities to participate in organized advocacy activities available through the New Jersey Psychiatric Association and the American Psychiatric Association.
